
The USIHC adheres to the highest standards in assuring our members' and
visitors' privacy. All information, including member information,
transactions, and all correspondence, is handled with the utmost
discretion.
The policies below are applicable to the USIHC web site,
icelandics.org. Our Privacy Policy will tell you what information we collect
when you visit icelandics.org, how we protect it, and what choices you have
about how that information is used. We urge you to read our entire Privacy
Policy so that you will understand both our commitment to you and your
privacy, and how you can participate in that commitment.
Collection of Personal Information Some functions and services offered
through icelandics.org require that you provide certain personal information;
for example, when you become a member, place a classified ad, send us an
e-mail, etc. we may need your postal or email address or other

Receiving Email and Postal Correspondence Except as noted
below, the USIHC will not share email addresses we collect through
icelandics.org with any unaffiliated third parties unless we specify this at
the point of the collection. Occasionally, the USIHC may make names and postal
addresses we collect through icelandics.org available to reputable companies
and organizations whose products and/or services may interest you, unless you
opt out of being included in our postal mailing list. Except as otherwise
noted, unless you consent to the disclosure of your personally identifiable
information, only we and our affiliates, our technical consultants, and other
third parties who make icelandics.org available, enhance its functionality, or
provide associated services and/or who deal with you in delivering content,
samples, products, etc., have access to this information, and we require them
to agree that they are covered by this policy. Please note that we do reserve
the right to transfer your personally identifiable information and other
information to our successors and purchasers of site assets. In the following

The USIHC may also provide aggregate statistics about our members, traffic

Opting Out Receiving email messages from the USIHC,
our affiliates and partners, is optional. You may choose not to receive email,
even after granting prior permission, or you may wish to correct information
you previously provided. If you do not wish to receive email or wish to
correct information you provided to the USIHC, please e-mail us immediately at
info@icelandics.org. The USIHC will use
commercially reasonable efforts to delete records from our database when we
receive requests to do so; however because of possible retention of a residual
copy in a system backup file, we cannot guarantee deletion in every
instance.

Online Policy for Individuals 17 Years Old and Younger No personal
information should be submitted or posted at icelandics.org by individuals 17
years of age or younger.
Note to parents: If your child has submitted his or
her name through icelandics.org, and you wish to review that information, to
have it corrected or deleted from our records, please communicate your wishes
to us at the above mailing address, or via email to info@icelandics.org. The USIHC pledges to exert
reasonable efforts to assure that the information is deleted as soon as
possible.
We encourage parents to be aware of their children's online activities, and
to learn about software that can filter objectionable materials.
Advertisers If you submit your name through a form on
icelandics.org to request information from an advertiser or other third party,
the USIHC is not responsible for any marketing or other use of your name by
the third party. To learn more about any other company or organization's
privacy policy, we suggest visiting its Web site or contacting the company by
postal mail or telephone.
Email Messages If you send the USIHC or any person
affiliated with the USIHC an email message, we may retain that message and
your email address, as well as any response we send you.

Improper Conduct The restrictions above will not apply
in the event that you engage in certain improper conduct. Specifically, we

How The USIHC Handles Privacy Internally The USIHC
