Club Designation

Regional Clubs Photo 1

Regional clubs affiliated with the USIHC may be formed by any group or concentration of people. A club will include at least five people with separate USIHC memberships who are eligible to vote in congress proceedings and who are full voting members of the club. Each club is required to have a USIHC Regional club Representative that will serve as the liaison between the Regional club and the USIHC.

To form a Regional club each club must fill out the application form, including a list of members, and submit by-laws for USIHC approval. All club by-laws must contain the statement:
The purpose of the regional club is to promote the knowledge of the Icelandic Horse and its correct use as a competition and Riding horse in accord with the policies of FEIF and the United States Icelandic Horse Congress.

By January 31st of each year the club must renew its chapter status with the USIHC. This process is started with a renewal reminder notice sent to each club's contact person in early January. In most cases, the renewal can be completed by simply signing and returning the form.

Club Members:

The USIHC has developed a Pleasure Rider Program for Regional clubs. Participation in the PRP for Regionals encourages and rewards pleasure riding as a social activity among regional clubs. The club that enrolls the most individual Pleasure Rider Program participants each year wins a prize for the club. All clubs are automatically entered each year.
