The member spot is just a fun way to get to know other USHIC members and to celebrate their accomplishments or their interest in the Icelandic Horse. We encourage you to send in pictures of yourself, other members, group rides – anything you think would be interesting or fun to see.

Barb Riva

I've been involved with Icelandic Horses for the past 16 years. This wonderful breed has turned our lives toward a world that has enriched our family well beyond our expectations. What started as a quest for a safe horse for my disabled son, Vincent, has evolved into an Icelandic Horse farm built specifically to keeping, raising, training and competing on Icelandic horses. While we have two auto body repair shops that have allowed us to afford to build and run this wonderful facility, Winterhorse Park is where we want to spend the majority of our time. Starting out as a novice rider sixteen years ago to now, I and my entire family have experienced and benefited from the qualities of this breed. Over time, I have witnessed the profoundly disabled and the most discerning horse enthusiasts alike drawn to the Icelandic horse and enjoy its unique qualities. I truly believe that the Icelandic Horse is the most versatile horse anyone could own. I.ve had a lot of fun with them and hope to continue into a ripe older age.

In September of 2000 we purchased and moved on to a 97 acre farm that we now call Winterhorse Park. In the past 8 years we.ve had numerous events such as riding clinic, shoeing clinic, trail rides, obstacle rides, schooling shows and sanctioned competitions. In July of 2009 we look forward to hosting the FEIF Youth Camp which will bring up to 40 young riders together for a week long camp. We are excited to be planning this event and am sure young riders from all over the world will have a fun and enriching time here at our farm in Eagle, Wisconsin.
