Promotional Booth

In 2012 USIHC invested in a free standing, lightweight display that is offered to Affiliated Clubs and individual members to use when participating in breed demonstrations and equine themed trade shows throughout the U.S. While there are some requirements to use the display, USIHC will pay for UPS Ground Service shipping to and from your area for Affiliated Clubs and individual members in good standing.

If you are interested in using the display, the complete requirements are outlined in the use agreement. Essentially, you must be a Affiliated Club or a member in good standing; you must pay a fully refundable deposit no less than two weeks before the booth shipd to you; and you must agree to take good care of the booth.

If you need more information, or are interested in using the booth, please contact us at promotion@icelandics.org.

Financial Support

The USIHC Board makes funds available to help Affiliated Clubs promote the Icelandic Horse, the Congress, and themselves. The complete details and requirements are listed in the Board Policies & Procedures (Paragraph 21).

The USIHC Board has also established funding that can be used for reimbursement towards the expense of the display space used to promote the Icelandic Horse at equine themed trade shows and events. There are restrictions that apply.

Guidelines for Requesting Promotional Event Funds

USIHC may provide reimbursement for display spaces, or "booths", at trade shows and events across the country for the purpose of promoting the breed and the organization. Requirements to request funding for a display space are as follows:

  1. The total amount of funding for 2015 is $1,500.00, with a maximum limit of $500.00 per event to be dispersed on a "first come, first served" basis.
  2. The funds are for the purpose of renting one (1) display or booth space at promotional events and trade shows for the purpose of promoting the breed and organization.
  3. Horse display stalls and/or overnight stalls for horses used for breed demos do not qualify for this funding option.
  4. The funding is only available to individual members in good standing of USIHC and sanctioned Affiliated Clubs of USIHC. Individual members must have their USIHC dues current at the time of the event/request and at the time the funding reimbursement is received. Affiliated Clubs must be sanctioned at the time of the event/request and at the time funding reimbursement is received.
  5. The USIHC display booth must be used at the event and all requirements of the USIHC Booth Use Agreement must be fulfilled to be eligible to request and receive this funding.
  6. Only current members in good standing of USIHC and sanctioned Affiliated Clubs may participate in the display space. No non-member individuals, businesses or farms may participate or display their information inside the space.
  7. The booth space is to be used for promotional purposes only. No sales of any goods or services shall be conducted inside the booth space.
  8. Requests for funding must be submitted to the USIHC Promotion Committee Chair no less than thirty (30) days in advance of the event. Copies of the rental agreement with the venue and receipts showing the exact amount paid for the display space must be provided at the time of the request.
  9. Photos of the display space shall be sent to the USIHC Promotion Committee Chair within one (1) week of the final day of the event. The photos will be used for promotional purposes in media such as, but not limited to, the USIHC Icelandic Horse Quarterly, the USIHC website and the USIHC Facebook page.
  10. After all of the above information has been received by the USIHC Promotion Committee Chair, it shall be reviewed for approval/denial of funding. If approved, the USIHC Treasurer will be notified to make the reimbursement, and if denied, a written explanation will be sent.

USIHC Promotional Brochures

USIHC has created and printed promotional brochures about the breed and organization that are available to all members and Affiliated Clubs, free of charge, to use for distribution at promotional events. The information on how to request the brochures is available on the Polices & Procedures page.

USIHC Breed Ambassador Award

The Breed Ambassador Award is a fun and easy to enter contest that acknowledges those owners who take their Icelandic Horses to organized all breed events. Each year, five winners will be drawn at random from all entries submitted. The winners will each receive a $50 Visa gift card and an official USIHC Breed Ambassador shirt. To enter, follow these simple rules:

  1. Take a photo of you and your horse at any organized all breed event such as shows, trail rides and clinics (events restricted to Icelandic Horses only do not qualify).
  2. Post your photo on the USIHC Facebook page, or email it to the Promotion Committee Chair promotion@icelandics.org
  3. All entries must include the name of the rider, the name of the horse, the name/type of event and location/date of event.
  4. Winners will be drawn at the Annual Meeting (example, 2015 winners will be drawn at the 2016 Annual Meeting)

For further information, contact the Promotion Committee Chair at promotion@icelandics.org.

FEIF Flag

FEIF Flag

USIHC has also received a gift of several FEIF flags. They are available for the affiliated clubs to use for events and demonstrations. The size of the flag is 5 feet by 8 feet and, while it is made for display on a flag pole, it also works well mounted on a wall as a banner.

FEIF Brochure

FEIF has designed a brochure that describes FEIF's role in the Icelandic horse world. The brochure can be downloaded and printed by anyone from FEIF's website (www.feif.org) or at this link: Brochure PDF.

Promotion Committee

The promotion committee consists of an enthusiastic group looking forward to working on many ideas for the future promotion of Icelandic Horses. We are open to any ideas that individuals may have to help promote this great breed of horse. If you can spare a little time and feel you have some experience to add to our group, we would greatly appreciate your help.
