USIHC programs are led by dedicated committees appointed by the Board of Directors. Every committee member — including the chairs — serves on a volunteer basis, contributing their time and expertise to support our community and the Icelandic horse.
Members interested in joining the Sport or Breeding Committees are required to attend a USIHC-approved seminar. All other committees are open to any current member who would like to get involved. If you’re interested in participating, we encourage you to reach out directly to the committee chair to learn more.
Each committee chair, if not already serving on the Board, works closely with a designated Board liaison, and all committee expenditures are reviewed and approved by the Board to ensure transparency and responsible stewardship.
